Steven Ooi Peng Lim

Director, Singapore Field Epidemiology Training Program

Associate Professor Steven Ooi is a medical doctor and senior consultant epidemiologist who obtained his postgraduate training at the Nationial University of Singapore and the Johns Hopkins University. He is currently director of the Singapore Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) network and associate director for the preventive medicine residency program. Undertaking communicable disease control at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, his interests cover urban health security, outbreak management and field epidemiology. He has been past deputy director of the Ministry of Health, deputy director of the Institute of Environmental Epidemiology (a WHO collaborating centre for environmental epidemiology) and senior assistant commissioner of public health in the Ministry of the Environment.
