Eleni Galanis

Physician Epidemiologist, British Columbia Centre for Disease Control

Dr. Eleni Galanis is a Physician Epidemiologist working at the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) in Vancouver, Canada. She is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia. She obtained her medical degree from the Universite de Sherbrooke in 1995, a Master of Public Health from Harvard University and her Family Medicine training and Fellowship in Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the University of Toronto in 2000. She is a 2002 alumni of the Canadian Field Epidemiology Program (CFEP), served as Acting Director of CFEP in 2002-03,  regularly contributes to the academic training of Canadian field epidemiologists and has been a site supervisor for 4 field epidemiologists between 2005 and present day. Over the last 20 years, she has worked at Health Canada, with the World Health Organization and at the BC Centre for Disease Control on communicable disease outbreak investigation, surveillance, control and prevention.
