Dr. Angela Hilmers serves as Chief Scientist for TEPHINET. Prior to joining TEPHINET as a permanent team member, she was a consultant medical epidemiologist for TEPHINET for the implementation of the Frontline Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) in the Americas and Caribbean regions. Prior to this, she was a Global Health Fellow at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention providing technical support to FETPs in West Africa. Dr. Hilmers has significant experience in scientific planning of quantitative and qualitative research studies related to non-communicable diseases. She received her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine National School of Tropical Medicine.
