Adam Johnson, MPH
Adam serves as the Project Manager implementing the Intermediate-level FETP across Latin America. In this role, he oversees the development of work plans, allocation of project resources and implementation, and monitors overall portfolio progress.
Previously he supported TEPHINET’s now-completed Zika portfolio, rolling out Frontline FETPs in nine countries, risk communications, lab systems strengthening and vector control surveillance. He has also completed portfolios on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), infectious diseases, National Public Health Institute (NPHI) development, and much more. Prior to joining TEPHINET, he worked for the Japanese government in Hachinohe City, Japan under the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations and Board of Education as an English teacher.
Adam holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in International Business Management with a minor in Spanish from Southern Adventist University; a Master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Health Management and Policy from Georgia State University; and will soon pursue his Juris Doctor in International Health Policy.
Having learned English, Japanese and Spanish fluently from childhood, he is gifted with languages and currently working on strengthening his Portuguese. In his free time, he is an acrobatic gymnastics coach and loves to work with children on developing healthy living habits.
